2011 Art Exhibition

2011-10-12 15:23

A gorgeous spring evening welcomed all the parents on Tuesday 13 September 2011, to view over 445 pictures, drawn and painted by the learners in Grade R to Grade 7. The themes were extremely varied from the Life Span Timeline of Nelson Mandela, Easter Rabbits, Mother’s Day Flowers, Father’s Day Cars, and Chinese Dragons to the skyline of Johannesburg. The delightful pictures from the Grade Rs showed their passion for the subject. The Intersen Phase learners demonstrated how technique and skill in designing their work makes for dynamic art. Some learners chose to enter the Open Section and produced sculptures and their own unique pictures. A special thank you to Mr Jansen van Vuuren and Mrs Cory who organised this event and all the parents who allowed their children to enter this prestigious Art Exhibition.  Many parents were very excited and indicated that they would be going to Frametalk in Sandton City to have their child’s work professionally framed. A special thank you to Mrs Buschberger our principal who has a soft spot for promoting the Arts in our school.  Congratulations is extended to all who supported this event!
